Let’s Grow More Gardens!

Across Atlanta, schools and communities have built gardens with the hope of connecting people to fresh food, nature, and each other. But too often, these spaces become overgrown or go unused. Not because people don't care, but because they need support, guidance, and a place to start.

Through workshops, educator training, coaching, and hands-on support, Ground Up Collective is helping schools and communities build the confidence and skills they need to care for these spaces and make them their own.

Now, we need your support to fund next school year’s programs.

We are raising $7,500 for next school year.

Your support provides plants, seeds, and materials for hands-on lessons with students and teachers, that allow us to grow more gardens.

  • From our School Partners:

“We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Group Up Collective. Elizabeth and Dory are knowledgeable, professional, and absolute pleasures to work with. Through their intentional, thoughtful, and engaging lessons, our staff and students are given meaningful opportunities to explore nature and its impact on the wider world. Their inquiry-based approach keeps students captivated, and everyone genuinely looks forward to their 'garden time.' We can't wait for another amazing year ahead!”

  • From Our Community Gardeners

“The Marley Community Garden Club has been a fantastic experience for me. I have not only learned how to garden,  but had fun doing it. The garden manager is very knowledgeable and supportive. Everything you need to get started is provided, you just need to show up! The regular meet-ups are also a great way to connect with like-minded neighbors.“ - Marley EAV Community Garden participant

  • From Our Students

“Some things I think are cool are that we can plant things and water the plants”

    “My favorite is strawberries!”

  • From Our Community Partners

“Elizabeth and the work that she engages in through From The Ground Up Collective has truly lived up to their name: Through the consistent planting both physical and metaphorical seeds in our community garden, it has been amazing to not only see the garden come back to life, but also see it gradually emerge as a place for children and adults alike to connect with nature, and create something to share with their families in a meaningful way.” - Amani Place Apartments, Residential Services Coordinator

  • From Our Students

“You can water plants to grow food and you don’t have to buy food with money!”

“I love picking the plums and putting a little salt on them and eating them.”
